Invitation to establish guidelines for Pulmonary Valve Replacement in the post-operative Tetralogy of Fallot patient

Our colleagues from CHSS and ECHSA have agreed to participate in a Joint Research effort that will entail establishing guidelines for Pulmonary Valve Replacement in the post-operative Tetralogy of Fallot patient.  The leadership of these societies would like to extend the invitation to participate in the literature review, review sessions at upcoming meeting, phone conferences, and eventual writing of guidelines to be published in our World Journal for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Surgery. The proposal can be download below for your review.  Jim St. Louis will be presenting  the project at the upcoming joint ECHSA / WSPCHS meeting in Sofia Bulgaria. The presentation will be at the research session on Friday, June 21st from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm. World Database for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Surgery

As part of the mission of the World Society for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Surgery, the World Database for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Surgery will be developed and maintained for the purposes of furthering knowledge concerning the global practice and outcomes of pediatric and congenital heart surgery; fostering an environment of quality improvement in participating hospitals, without geographic constraints regarding eligibility for participation; and promoting scientific investigation and publication based on analyses of this world database, with collaboration among a wide array of international colleagues. 

How can I enroll my hospital?

  • One member of the institution should be a member of the World Society for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Surgery (WSPCHS).
  • Sign and return the WSPCHS Data Use Agreement and Participation Agreement.

The Database Committee of the World Society is to work towards the creation of a Global Database for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Surgery. This goal shall be achieved in cooperation with existing continental databases and other societies. The Database Committee shall be composed by one to three members per continent in addition to the President, First Vice-President and Secretary of the World Society. The Chair of the Database Committee shall be designated by the President and approved by the Governing Council.
