WSPCHS Orlando 2018 Conference Guide

The World Society for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Surgery (WSPCHS) welcomes you to our Sixth Scientific Meeting taking place on July 22-26, 2018 in Orlando, Florida, USA at Walt Disney World. The World Society expresses its gratitude to the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital (JHACH) for their help in organizing our meeting, which in 2018 joins the JHACH 18th International Symposium on
Congenital Heart Disease.

The Program Committee has worked hard to put together an exciting program. On Day One, the 18th International Symposium will focus on Surgery and Perioperative Care for Transposition of the Great Arteries. Day One also includes two additional parallel breakout sessions: (1) update on Fetal Cardiology, and (2) National Pediatric Cardiology – Quality Improvement Collaborative (NPC-QIC) Breakout.

For the main meeting, the Sixth Scientific Meeting of the World Society for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Surgery on July 23-26, we have put together an outstanding comprehensive Postgraduate Course on the topic of “Hypoplastic Ventricles.” The “Van Praagh Lecture” will be delivered by Paul Weinberg, the “Aldo R. Castañeda Lecture” by William I. Norwood, and the “Adib D. Jatene Lecture” by Marshall L.
Jacobs. President Richard A. Jonas will present an outgoing address and the new President Marcelo B. Jatene will deliver
the Presidential Address. In addition, there will be multiple oral presentations of the best abstracts submitted. The rest
of the selected abstracts will be presented as posters.
The morning sessions of each day are plenary sessions that will bring together over 500 attendees. In the afternoons, we feature 8 parallel breakout sessions in the following 8 Specialty Tracks: (1) Surgery, (2) Cardiology, (3) Anesthesia, (4) Critical Care, (5) Nursing, (6) Perfusion, (7) Leadership/ Administration, and (8) Trainee.
